What is a Problem Fix ?

The PFIs / PFVs (Problem Fixes / Problem Fix Versions) are software updates for the 10/Series release software and include bug fixes and new software features.

The PFI / PFV can refer to the System Software or to Optional Software Packages.

PFIs / PFVs are identified by a progressive number. The last PFI / PFV always includes the previous ones. When a new PFI / PFV is released the previous one is deleted from our FTP site.

At the moment the PFIs / PFVs available are:

System Software (E69) - Release 5.3
FTP Location: fix/e69/r53/

System Software (E69) - Release 5.2

How to get the files

1) Click on the relevant link above to connect to the OSAI UK FTP server - It is then possible to navigate through the folders.

For your reference please note that file names are in one of two different formats:

        pfixx_yz.exe
where:
        xx = release number
        y = pfi number
        z = letter identifying diskette number (example: A, B, C, ...)

OR

        pfvxxyyz.exe
where:
        xx = release number
        yy = pfi number
        z = letter identifying diskette number (example: 1, 2, 3, ...)

2) For each file create a diskette with the label as listed above. For your reference the label format is as follows:

        Exxyyzzaabb
where:
        xx = software code
                Example: 34=system SW release 2.* 69=system SW release 3.*
        yy = release
                Example: 02=release 2 03=release 3
        zz = release version
                Example: 03=release 2.3 03=release 3.3
        aa = pfi id
                Example: 09=pfi number 9
        bb = diskette number
                Example: 01=diskette 1

3) Copy the file on your HDU, insert the diskette in drive A: and type:

        C:\name -D A:

All files and directories will be re-constructed on the diskette.

4) Label the disks created using the label listed above, with the command:

        label A: Exxyyzzaabb

Who also has the PFI / PFV?

Should you need the last PFI / PFV diskette, contact your local OSAI support representative and ask them to send it to you.
