There is a wide range of
sinusoidal synchronous motors with permanent magnets for connection to
the drive. You can choose between two technologies: the F series with
ferrit magnets and the H series with rare earth magnets. The F series
with its medium inertia is suited for applications with high inertia load.
The H series with low inertia is preferable for dynamic applications with
high acceleration. The main characteristics of the motors are:
Continuous
torque from 0.5 to 50 Nm
Maximum
speed up to 6000 RPM
Integrated
thermo sensor
Integrated
optical encoder, 2000 pulses/rotation
Versions
with integrated brake
Protection
grade up to IP65
OSSplus Master is a software
package for setting up and programming the drive. It can be executed on
a PC in the Windows environment and is also used for displaying the parameters
and diagnostics. The main features are:
Drive
Set Up: for displaying the drive type and choosing the motor
Drive
Parameters: For accessing the most common parameters such as command
type, current limitation and protection threshold
I/O
Configuration: For assigning functions to the programmable inputs/outputs
and programming the brake timing
Tuning:
For automatic or manual gain tuning
Oscilloscope:
Two channel oscilloscope for displaying the physical quantities relating
to drive functioning
Diagnostics:
For displaying the input status and changing the output status. It
also displays error conditions and memorises the previous errors.
System Configuration
An OSSplus system consists
of:
One
drive module
One
F or H type motor
Connection
cables between motor, drive and numeric control
Various
accessories
In addition to these units
you have to provide:
One
power connection
Input
fuses
Transformer,
if a 230 VAC is not available
Drive Module
There are 5 versions of
the drive module with continuous current from 5 to 35 A. They have to
be connected to three phase 230 VAC power nets. The drive powers the motor
with three phase alternating current to achieve the speed or the torque
according to the analogue command from a controller.
Motor
The motors of the H series
come with continuous torque between 0.56 to 21 Nm if driven by drives
of the OSSplus series. For F type motors the equivalent data are from
3.5 to 21.4 Nm.
Cables
The cables were specifically
developed for use with the OSSplus system. These cables warrant a higher
shielding level, fast connection system and IP67 protection on the motor
connectors.
Motor
cables: These connect the drive to the motor, one for the encoder
and one for power. They are certified for a length of 30 meters. The
cables, as well as the connectors, are completely shielded, guarantee
signal integrity and comply to the EMC standards.
CNC
Cables: These two cables have been designed for the connection with
OSAI controllers, one for the encoder signals and the analogue command,
the other for the I/O signals. The two cables are sufficient for setting
up a typical application.
Alternatively,
there is a cable which makes all drive signals available via a terminal
strip of 50 lines. The terminal strip has to be ordered separately.
It is recommended for applications making use of some special drive
features, e.g. the programmable inputs / outputs.
Accessories
Shaft
oil seal kit: for IP65 on the motor shaft
Gear
box: Available for the motors S-3000, S/F-4000 and S/F-6000. The kit
contains the adapter flange, mounting components and instructions.
The reduction ratios are 5, 12 and 20.
Line
Filters: For applications requiring the CE label for the machine.
For each drive model there is a certain certified filter type.
Brake
Resistor: The external resistor can handle regenerative loads beyond
the capacity of the resistor integrated in each system module. During
the brake cycle there is high tension between the two ends of the
resistor and its temperature can reach dangerous levels. For this
reason it has to be equipped with protection covers or other protection
to comply with the safety standards. The resistor may be necessary
in applications with high inertia loads, low friction and frequent
brake cycles.
Programming
Module (TouchPad): This can be used for drive configuration and diagnostics
as an alternative to the OSSplus Master. It is directly installed
on the drive's serial connector and has an 8 character alphanumeric
display and 5 keys.
