1. Performance and technology: the capability and calculation speed available from the hardware base is used to the maximum by the numerical control software reducing the block execution time by 10 times compared with the previous product. This allows for a superior surface finish and eliminates further processing.

2. Part Programming: the 10/310 T is a compact numerical control which is completely compatible with the 8601 T product, with quick and easy programming provided by the use of direct geometry and dedicated canned cycles.

3. Operator panel: the CNC 10/310 T uses the new range of operator panels with ergonomic and compact TFT colour displays.

4. Installation: with the 10/310 T the design of the interface logic between the machine tool and the numerical control, retains complete compatibility with the 8601 T product. The use of permanent Flash memory, allows quick and easy storage of the logic, optimising the machine start-up and reducing maintenance times.

5. Communication: with the CNC 10/310 T: two RS-232 serial lines are available. Using these lines with the MINI-DNC utility, part programs and configuration data can be transferred between the CNC and a personal computer.

6. Distributed accessory modules: by using a high speed fibre optic connection it is possible to connect various optional devices to the numerical control: digital I/O modules, analogue I/O modules, operator consoles and an electronic hand-wheel.
